- How old does my child have to be in order to attend the camp? There is no specific age requirement to begin learning chess! However, all children will be placed into chess groups by both age and ability (no experience in chess is required). Most kids start learning chess @ 5 to 6 years of age
- What is the curriculum? Our curriculum involves the basic premise of chess, how each piece moves, openings and closings, and the most powerful tactics! We also use a board game that helps with chess skills , other educational aids, round robin play, and scavenger hunts.
- Will lunch be provided? Lunch will not be provided; each child will have to bring their own lunch. However, snacks and water will be provided during breaks.
- What should my child bring to camp? We will provide all chess boards and pieces. The only materials that your child will have to bring are a lunch and a desire to learn!
- How else can we support the cause of increased cognition among children? Enrolling your child(ren) in our camp is definitely a start; all of our profits go to help the unfortunate & refugees through Rainbow Village (rainbowvillage.org) & Save The Children! (SaveTheChildren.org) However, if you want to be more involved in the cause, you can find out more ways on how to help by visiting https://educateachild.org/our-partners-projects/partner/save-children
